Our Beauty Therapy courses are available at Level/s 1, 2, 3
Our state-of-the-art, realistic training salon, Image, will allow you to experience salon life under the guidance of our highly-trained, inspirational tutors. A typical day of study at Scarborough TEC could see you performing anything from body massage to a manicure and facials. Not only will you get to hear expert talks from industry professionals but you will go on trips to professional hair and beauty shows.
You will develop skills in areas such as manicure, pedicure, make-up, skin and hand care with the addition of skin treatments and waxing techniques as well as anatomy and physiology as the courses progress. Your face-to-face interaction and customer service skills will be honed and refined in our Image Salon where you will work with real clients and of course, everyone has the opportunity to do vital work experience.
English & Maths
If you haven’t achieved a GCSE Grade 4 (C) in English and/or Maths you will be required to either; take a Functional Skills qualification if you have achieved a Grade 1 or 2, or retake the GCSE if you’ve achieved Grade 3. You will be fully supported by our specialist team ahead of taking the exam.

HOW IS THIS COURSE ASSESSED?
These courses are assessed through unit assessments as required, ongoing written coursework and one externally set examination and assessment at both Levels 2 & 3.
We can help you when deciding which course or option you wish to take. During your course we ensure you develop employability skills and gain relevant experience. We provide information, advice and support when completing your course and progressing to work or going into higher education.
When applying for University we can provide support with the UCAS application and Student Finance. Once you’ve received a Level 3 qualification you could progress into employment, or further your studies by taking other qualifications at Level 4, for example a Diploma in Advanced Beauty Therapy Techniques.
