The BTEC Construction course is suited for those who wish to follow a path into Construction, Architecture or Civil Engineering. You will learn about the technology of buildings, surveying in the field, sustainable construction, property law and building regulations and will also include elements of Science and Maths.
There may also be the option to study Computer Aided Design (CAD) as well as structural mechanics and building regulations and control. You could also gain necessary work experience including carrying out surveying tasks for external companies and organisations or working on construction sites.
English & Maths
If you haven’t achieved a GCSE Grade 4 (C) in English and/or Maths you will be required to either; take a Functional Skills qualification if you have achieved a Grade 1 or 2, or retake the GCSE if you’ve achieved Grade 3. You will be fully supported by our specialist team ahead of taking the exam.

HOW IS THIS COURSE ASSESSED?
These courses are assessed through a series of practical examinations and online multiple-choice tests.
We can help you when deciding which course or option you wish to take. During your course we ensure you develop employability skills and gain relevant experience. We provide information, advice and support when completing your course and progressing to work or going into higher education. When applying for university we can provide support with the UCAS application and Student Finance. Once you’ve received a Level 3 qualification you could progress into employment, or further your studies by taking other qualifications at university, for example a HNC Construction or BSc Construction Management.
