Level 3 Creative Practise and a Subsidiary Diploma in Visual Arts
Our Creative Academy courses are available at Level/s 3
If you have a flair and passion for creativity the new TEC Creative Academy will offer you the chance to study for a unique combination of qualifications that will prepare you for further study ahead of a career in the Creative Industry.
Alongside work-based opportunities and Level 3 creative practise you will study for a Subsidiary Diploma in Visual Arts.
English & Maths
If you haven’t achieved a GCSE Grade 4 (C) in English and/or Maths you will be required to either; take a Functional Skills qualification if you have achieved a Grade 1 or 2, or retake the GCSE if you’ve achieved Grade 3. You will be fully supported by our specialist team ahead of taking the exam.

Over two years you will look at the creative process while developing skills through the research and application of specialist industry practices and techniques. You will also develop your technical skills through the practical application of of design and drawing techniques.
Throughout this course you will gain a valuable insight into the world of visual arts and gain an understanding of the skills required for visual analysis and the consideration of a broad body of visual works to prepare you for further study at University
.You can progress through the courses at Scarborough TEC and ultimately develop a portfolio to apply through UCAS for degree level study. Scarborough TEC offers a range of Higher Education courses or you could join some of our previous alumni at top art schools such as Goldsmith’s, Chelsea, Wimbledon, Glasgow, Leeds, Edinburgh, Manchester and Newcastle.
