Explore all aspects of the performing arts music industries industry including acting, physical theatre, musical theatre, theatre studies and dance. You’ll learn about the principles of acting, classical and contemporary theatre performance and other theatre techniques and practices.

 

Enjoy music workshops with our industry experts, live performances in our very own venue, recording in one of our professional music studios and Q&A sessions with successful musicians that will give you a great insight into the industry. You will have the opportunity to see a variety of productions which will give you the chance to experience live performance up close and personal. Our prestigious partnerships include the Stephen Joseph Theatre and Live Theatre in Newcastle.

English & Maths

If you haven’t achieved a GCSE Grade 4 (C) in English and/or Maths you will be required to either; take a Functional Skills qualification if you have achieved a Grade 1 or 2, or retake the GCSE if you’ve achieved Grade 3. You will be fully supported by our specialist team ahead of taking the exam.

HOW IS THIS COURSE ASSESSED?

The course is assessed through practical performance work, individual research, reflective journals and ongoing workshop based assessments.

We can help you when deciding which course or option you wish to take. During your course we ensure you develop employability skills and gain relevant experience. We provide information, advice and support when completing your course and progressing to work or going into higher education.

When applying for university we can provide support with the UCAS application and Student Finance. Once you’ve received a Level 3 qualification you could progress into employment, or further your studies by taking other qualifications at Level 4, for example an HNC in Performing Arts or undergraduate degrees in related fields.
