Remote Education at Scarborough TEC
The information below outlines the support that is available to each of the groups of students who attend Scarborough TEC during periods when it is required for education to take place remotely.
Scarborough TEC is aiming to ensure that there is strong and consistent online offer available to all of its students during periods of self-isolation, local restrictions and national lockdowns.
- Delivery will be carried out through the College’s virtual learning environment Canvas.
- Timetabling will continue as per the student’s normal timetable with maths, English, tutorials and personal development activities also taking place.
- Assessments are being carried out as planned with exams being offered on site as required. Students self-isolating will be supported in accessing assessments on their return to site.
- The College has front loaded much of its vocational/specialist delivery but catch up sessions will be made available when the student either returns to College or the site is opened up again.
- IT equipment loans and will be made where required. Support with data will be available to some students on bursary.
- Students with SEND will be able to attend site where there are local or national lockdowns. In instances where students are self-isolating they will be supported in accessing lessons remotely by a Learning Support Practitioner.
