Painting and Decorating

On the Painting and Decorating course you will learn about different methods of painting surfaces.

As well as methods of applying paper and producing specialist finishes, using paint systems and High Volume Low Pressure (HVLP) spray equipment as well as erecting and using working platforms.

From home improvements to new builds or industrial scale projects, as a painter and decorator you could find yourself specialising in one of many areas this varied and interesting trade encompasses.

Every day will prove to be a new challenge and environment and it’s up to you which route you take. You might find yourself in a large industrial team, tackling outside projects or as a domestic decorator, working on a self employed basis. The pride and sense of achievement though is the same across the board.

The UK construction industry employs more than 2.2 million people and painters and decorators are a major contribution to this figure.

What you will learn

All you need to do is apply for the subject of your choice and we will work out the level of course with you, using your predicted and actual GCSE results and other qualifications. Maths and English are essential subjects, if you missed out on gaining an A-C grade at school these will be studied alongside your main course to give you more opportunities in the future.

Whatever level you need to start at, if you just missed out on a grade or if you need more stretch and challenge, our courses will be tailored just for you to ensure your learning success.We offer the opportunity to develop your skills up to Level 3 in construction.
