A career in the Sports could see you travel as a Sports Therapist or Team Coach; you could work as a Freelance Fitness Instructor or as a team member at a leisure complex.

Our Sport courses are available at Level/s 1, 2, 3

You could also yourself competing as a team or on an individual level in local, regional and national leagues as part of one of our many Scarborough TEC teams. You will get the opportunity to go on many trips and visits. You’ll hear first-hand from guest speakers including Physiotherapists, Coaches and specialists from the sports and fitness industry.

Work experience opportunities have included placements with Grimsby Town Football in the Community, North Yorkshire Council, School Sports Partnership, fitness centres and sports club coaching. Learners also have the chance to complete additional qualifications (depending on programme of study) in First Aid, Nutrition and Fitness, Coaching Awards, Safeguarding and Leadership Awards and Gym Instruction.

English & Maths

If you haven’t achieved a GCSE Grade 4 (C) in English and/or Maths you will be required to either; take a Functional Skills qualification if you have achieved a Grade 1 or 2, or retake the GCSE if you’ve achieved Grade 3. You will be fully supported by our specialist team ahead of taking the exam.
