Rainbow Centre benefits from generous staff and students

Scarborough TEC’s Library Team recently presented a cheque to Principal’s Charity, Scarborough-based The Rainbow Centre, following their fundraising activities throughout the past year.

Suzanne Halkyard, Lead Library Assistant, presented the cheque for £107.40 to Trish Kinsella, Manager of The Rainbow Centre, which was established in 1997 and aims to support, uplift and encourage those who are homeless, struggling with issues of substance abuse, have recently been released from prison or have other social issues.  Trish said:

“This is an amazing amount of money that the staff and students at Scarborough TEC have raised for The Rainbow Centre.  I just want to say thank you on behalf of everyone who will benefit from this.  The Rainbow Centre is self-funded and we rely on people like yourselves to help those most in need.

“We see between 120-130 people a day so there is a lot of need and without your help we can’t meet it.  I look forward to our continued relationship with Scarborough TEC and they are really helping to make a difference in peoples’ lives.”
