Computer Science is where you learn by making. You’ll soon be building imaginative games, web apps, digital interfaces and interactive products.

With a Computer Science qualification you will become future-proof as you leave as an in-demand fusion of creative thinker and technical expert. Utilise tools you are familiar with, working with the world around you to develop the skills you need to go into a computing career.
The course is set up in a series of projects and these are all industry focused to give you a much greater understanding of the digital world. Working with real projects and local businesses, you will learn skills to become a true digital developer.
Topics you will cover include; Web development – Developing a website from start to finish, including using HTML 5, CSS and Javascript (jQuery) to control the site, learners will construct a working site for a real client. Systems Architecture and Cyber Security – Build a PC from the ground up, understanding how all the components go together to create a functioning system. Moving on to Network and Cyber Security including setting up and securing a network, before looking at hacking tools to infiltrate existing networks.
English & Maths
If you haven’t achieved a GCSE Grade 4 (C) in English and/or Maths you will be required to either; take a Functional Skills qualification if you have achieved a Grade 1 or 2, or retake the GCSE if you’ve achieved Grade 3. You will be fully supported by our specialist team ahead of taking the exam.
