Carpenters and Joiners require an eye for detail, a sense of precision and a creative flair.

Our Carpentry & Joinery courses are available at Level/s 1, 2, 3

If you want to train in Carpentry and Joinery our experienced tutors will guide you through the skills areas in our industry-standard equipped workshops.

You’ll learn about construction technology, using woodwork joints, maintenance of tools and using power tools. Building on this you will learn about erecting structural carcassing, using circular saws and carrying out first and second fix operations.

You also have the option of training for a multi trades qualification including Brickwork and Joinery with the opportunity to study one of those at a higher level. You’ll also get the chance to gain valuable work experience with local companies and community projects.

English & Maths

If you haven’t achieved a GCSE Grade 4 (C) in English and/or Maths you will be required to either; take a Functional Skills qualification if you have achieved a Grade 1 or 2, or retake the GCSE if you’ve achieved Grade 3. You will be fully supported by our specialist team ahead of taking the exam.

These courses are assessed through a series of practical and online multiple-choice tests which can help you when deciding which course or option you wish to take to progress your learning of this trade.

During your course we ensure you develop employability skills and gain relevant experience. We provide information, advice and support when completing your course and progressing to work or going into higher education. When applying for university we can provide support with the UCAS application and Student Finance.
