Whether you’re travelling from across town or a nearby village, getting here is easy. Scarborough TEC offers free travel using a local transport service for qualifying school-leavers from many local areas.
You can also get here by bus, bike or car. If you’re unsure about the best way to get in, just ask. We’ll help you find the route that works for you.
Yes. Depending on your circumstances, there are different ways we can help.
Scarborough TEC offers a range of support schemes to help with the cost of college, including the 16–19 Bursary, Free College Meals and help with travel, kit, equipment or childcare. There’s also extra support available for vulnerable young people and tailored funds for students aged 19+ or those taking out Advanced Learner Loans.
There’s always help here if you need it, whether that’s with your course, your wellbeing or anything else going on in life.
You can access one-to-one support through our Student Support team, who can help with learning needs, disabilities and any additional support required to help you succeed on your course. If specialist support is needed, the team will work with you to make sure the right help is in place.
There’s also a dedicated counselling and wellbeing service, available 24/7, with free access to confidential support, helplines and live chat.
We know everyone’s different and whatever support looks like for you, we’ll make sure you can get to where you need to be.
Loads. Learning at Scarborough TEC is hands-on and practical. You’ll use specialist workshops, hair and beauty salons and our student-run restaurant, Nineteen09, alongside modern study spaces. When you’re not in class, you can grab food on campus, spend time in the library, join enrichment activities or use the on-site sports facilities.
Plenty. Many students move on to work, an apprenticeship or further study, including university, with progression options available through East Riding College and University Centre Grimsby, while others take time to explore different training routes.
Our Careers team is on hand to help you plan what comes next, with one-to-one advice, guidance on applications and opportunities to explore different pathways. Whatever your goal, you’ll have support to help you take your next step with confidence. You won’t be doing it alone.
