L3 Business Administration Apprenticeship

Summary

Colley Farm Buildings is a family-run company specialising in portal steel-framed buildings across Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire, with over 50 years of industry experience and a strong focus on the agricultural sector. As a Level 3 Business Administration Apprentice, you will support the efficient running of the office at our Hutton Cranswick premises, providing administrative and sales support, assisting with yard sales, stock management, and billing, while working closely with the Buyer and Directors. This is a varied role combining office-based responsibilities with some outdoor sales activities, so candidates should be organised, proactive, and comfortable working outside when required.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

Administrative & Office Support
• Welcoming visitors, handling reception duties, and answering calls
• Maintaining purchase and sales ledgers
• Filing and managing document flow/traceability
• Preparing weekly, monthly, and annual reports
• Reconciling delivery notes, invoices, and contract paperwork
• Supporting Health & Safety administration and First Aid records
• Ordering and monitoring PPE, stationery, and sundries
• Coordinating hand tool maintenance and assisting with workshop needs
• Handling outgoing post and occasional driving of company vehicles
• Using Microsoft Office, SAGE Accounts, and following cybersecurity practices

Sales & Yard Support
• Greeting and assisting customers
• Picking, checking, and helping load small orders
• Unloading deliveries (manual handling or forklift)
• Recording sales for invoicing
• Monitoring and maintaining stock levels

Course contents

Business administrators develop a highly transferable set of skills that are valuable across all sectors, including public, private, and charitable organisations. The role offers the opportunity to work both independently and as part of a team, supporting day-to-day operations and helping to improve administrative processes.

As a business administrator, you will work with different departments and interact with both internal and external customers, playing a key role in keeping the organisation running efficiently. This varied and flexible role allows apprentices to build a broad range of skills and experience, supporting future career progression, including opportunities to move into management roles.

Your training plan

  • Level 3 Business Administration
  • One day per week release to attend college
  • Training delivered by East Riding College

Qualifications

  • GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4 or above) essential

We at Hull Ionians are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our culinary team as an Apprentice Chef. As an apprentice Commis Chef, you will learn the essential foundations of professional cookery while working under the guidance of experienced chefs. This role is designed to build your confidence, competence, and understanding of how each kitchen section functions, helping you discover the areas where your interests and talents lie.

Throughout your apprenticeship, you will gain hands-on experience preparing ingredients, cooking dishes, and supporting service across multiple sections. You will learn how to work efficiently, safely, and hygienically while contributing to the overall success of the kitchen team.

Hull Ionians based at Brantingham Park are looking for an apprentice chef.  We provide a range of catering for Rugby events including lunches, Dinners and buffets and everything in between. All prepared and cooked in our onsite professional kitchens.

This apprenticeship combines the best of both worlds, with a mix of online study and hands-on workplace learning. You’ll work alongside experienced colleagues in the Accounts Team while completing your AAT Level 2 qualification through East Riding College, allowing you to develop your skills and put your learning into practice from day one.
