Apprentice Mechanical Technician

Are you passionate about engineering, innovation, and problem-solving? FET is seeking a motivated and dedicated Apprentice Mechanical Technician to join our expert team at our Kirkbymoorside facility. You will work hands-on assembling and testing mechanical and hydraulic components used in our cutting-edge subsea products.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

Under the guidance of experienced mentors, you’ll gain practical skills in mechanical assembly, basic wiring, testing, and workshop maintenance. You will play a crucial role in building products that are trusted by industries worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble mechanical components for subsea systems, including pumps, valves, and tooling
  • Learn and assist in basic electrical and hydraulic testing and assembly
  • Collaborate closely with mentors and supervisors to ensure high-quality output
  • Support workshop maintenance and maintain excellent housekeeping standards
  • Accurately complete required documentation (e.g., timesheets, non-conformance reports)
  • Follow all health, safety, and environmental guidelines

What We’re Looking For:

Education:

  • A minimum of 6 GCSEs at grade C/4 or above, including maths and Design Technology (preferred)

Digital Content Creation Apprentice

Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and creative individual to join our Digital Services and Marketing teams as a Digital Content Creation Apprentice. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about content creation and digital media and is looking to develop their skills in a dynamic and supportive college environment.

As an apprentice, you will be involved in producing both written and audio-visual content for a variety of platforms including social media, websites, print, and broadcast. You’ll work closely with both internal teams and external organisations to support marketing campaigns, student engagement initiatives, and college branding.

About the provider

Scarborough Sixth Form College is the main provider of level three education in the area, offering A levels, T levels and BTECs to over 1000 students. Outcomes and Progress at the college are high with an A level pass rate of 99% and around 50% of grades achieved are A%-B and 75% of vocational qualifications are graded Distinction* or Distinction. As a result, our students progress to good destinations with the majority going to universities, including Oxbridge, with the remainder seeking apprenticeships or employment.
