Apprentice Modular Joiner

Summary

Course contents

  • Carry out location, product, material and dimensional checks prior to installation.
  • Inspect the fabric of the building for suitability of weight of installation.
  • Interpret information from drawings, specifications and functional designs.
  • Comply with health and safety regulations, standards, and guidance.
  • Use and store hand and power tools.
  • Select and use personal protective equipment.
  • Remove and dispose of pre-existing products.
  • Assemble and install fitted furniture components in sequence.
  • Install boxing, boarding and frameworks, adjusting to ensure best possible fit.
  • Install and dry-fit ancillary products, for example, hinges, handles, appliances, media equipment or bathroom suite fixtures.
  • Identify and report faults, snags and issues.
  • Carry out rectification work following a root cause analysis, within limits of competence.
  • Maintain a safe working area and return to a safe condition.
  • Carry out a customer handover, including providing product guidance.
  • Communicate with others verbally, for example internal and external customers, colleagues and managers.
  • Works collaboratively with clients or stakeholders to solve problems
  • Comply with environmental and sustainability regulations, standards, and guidance. Segregate resources for reuse, recycling and disposal.
  • Applies team working principles.
  • Complete documentation.

Your training plan

  • Fitted Interiors Installer Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard
  • Training will take place on site at our Carnaby facility with additional sessions at the college when required

Qualifications

GCSE Maths & English (Grade 4) desirable

Other requirements

Apprentice Administrator

Summary

Whitby Court Care Home is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice Administrator to join our supportive administrative team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career in business administration, gain hands-on experience, and work towards a Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship.

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

As an Apprentice Administrator, you will play an important role in supporting the daily administrative functions within a busy residential and nursing care environment. You will receive comprehensive on-the-job and off-the-job training, developing a wide range of transferable skills such as customer service, IT, communication, and financial processes.

Typical Duties Include:

  • Maintaining records and organising filing systems
  • Assisting with financial tasks such as processing invoices
  • Learning and applying new skills through regular training and development
  • Providing general office support across the team

GCSE Maths & English (Grade 4) essential
Administrative experience and basic Excel knowledge are desirable.

Course contents

  • Skilled in the use of multiple IT packages and systems relevant to the organisation in order to: write letters or emails, create proposals, perform financial processes, record and analyse data. Examples include MS Office or equivalent packages. Able to choose the most appropriate IT solution to suit the business problem. Able to update and review databases, record information and produce data analysis where required.
  • Produces accurate records and documents including: emails, letters, files, payments, reports and proposals. Makes recommendations for improvements and present solutions to management. Drafts correspondence, writes reports and able to review others’ work. Maintains records and files, handles confidential information in compliance with the organisation’s procedures. Coaches others in the processes required to complete these tasks.
  • Exercises proactivity and good judgement. Makes effective decisions based on sound reasoning and is able to deal with challenges in a mature way. Seeks advice of more experienced team members when appropriate.
  • Builds and maintains positive relationships within their own team and across the organisation. Demonstrates ability to influence and challenge appropriately. Becomes a role model to peers and team members, developing coaching skills as they gain area knowledge.
  • Demonstrates good communication skills, whether face-to-face, on the telephone, in writing or on digital platforms. Uses the most appropriate channels to communicate effectively. Your training plan

All training will take place within the care home, alongside structured online e-learning modules provided once appointed. You will work to a clear training plan and be supported by experienced staff to help you progress through your apprenticeship.
