Course contents

The Level 3 Electrician Installation and Maintenance Apprenticeship develops the advanced knowledge and practical skills needed to install, inspect, test, maintain and fault-find on electrical systems in domestic, commercial and industrial environments. Learners typically study safe isolation, electrical science, wiring regulations, containment systems, cable installation, inspection and testing, diagnosis of electrical faults, planned and reactive maintenance, and the installation of lighting, power, distribution boards and protective devices. The course also builds understanding of health and safety legislation, environmental awareness, customer service, teamwork and professional standards expected on site. Through a combination of classroom learning and workplace experience, apprentices gain the competence and confidence to carry out electrical work safely, efficiently and to current industry standards.
