About this apprenticeship
They carry out routine financial tasks such as data entry, bookkeeping, reconciliations, processing payments and managing accounts payable and receivable. Working under supervision, they use digital accounting systems to maintain accurate records and support the preparation of financial statements. They work with a range of internal and external stakeholders, helping ensure the organisation’s financial operations run accurately and efficiently.
This Level 2 apprenticeship is wholly work based and delivered through independent study, online training sessions and workplace visits by a Vocational Trainer Coach.
What you Will Learn
- Understand key laws and regulations affecting finance, including data protection, employment, company and anti-money laundering requirements
- Follow professional ethics, codes of conduct and principles of confidentiality
- Understand organisational structures and the role of finance within a business
- Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll and cash management
- Apply bookkeeping principles, record transactions and identify and correct routine errors
- Use finance software, spreadsheets and digital systems accurately and securely
- Check financial data through reconciliations and identify inconsistencies or issues
- Communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues and internal and external stakeholders
- Work effectively as part of a team, adapt to change and take responsibility for personal development
- Demonstrate accuracy, professionalism, customer focus, sustainability and awareness of wellbeing in all financial tasks.
What Next?
On completion of this programme, apprentices will be fully qualified and experienced Accounts or Finance Assistants. Allowing progression onto Level 3 apprenticeships such as Assistant Accountant.
