About this apprenticeship
They support financial and accounting activities, including data entry, management accounts, year-end statements, VAT returns and tax preparation. They work with internal and external stakeholders to provide accurate and timely financial information, manage their own workload and caseload, and typically report to a senior accountant.
This Level 3 apprenticeship is wholly work based and delivered through independent study, online training sessions and workplace visits by a Vocational Trainer Coach.
What you Will Learn
- Apply financial accounting principles, including accruals, prepayments, depreciation and fixed assets
- Support management accounting, budgeting, forecasting and investigation of financial variances
- Maintain accurate records for accounts payable, receivable, cash management and payroll
- Apply double-entry bookkeeping and accounting standards to financial transactions and reports
- Reconcile financial data, investigate errors and resolve or escalate financial queries
- Support tax returns and understand financial controls, fraud and money-laundering risks
- Use accounting software, spreadsheets and digital tools securely, following data protection and cybersecurity requirements
- Analyse and communicate financial information clearly to finance and non-finance stakeholders
- Build effective, inclusive relationships while maintaining professional ethics and confidentiality
- Demonstrate organisation, accuracy, adaptability, professional judgement, sustainability and commitment to ongoing development.
