About this course

About this apprenticeship

They supervise a small team, ensuring food is prepared on time, safely and efficiently while maintaining high standards of hygiene, quality and organisation. Chef de Parties also manage deliveries, storage, stock, waste and food quality, helping maximise yield and profitability. They work closely with chefs, front-of-house teams, suppliers and customers, and support the development of new dishes and menus. They typically report to a Sous Chef or Head Chef and may work early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.

This Level 3 apprenticeship has an approximate duration of 18 months and delivered as 5 masterclass sessions from the Scarborough TEC, Filey Road, Scarborough, YO11 3AZ, UK

What you Will Learn

  • Develop and refresh creative, profitable menus based on trends, customer preferences, seasonality, sustainability and business needs
  • Use advanced preparation, cooking and finishing techniques to produce complex dishes across all food groups
  • Apply culinary science, traditional, classical and modern techniques to achieve high-quality results
  • Use technology, equipment and appropriate methods to maximise quality, efficiency and consistency
  • Maintain food safety, hygiene, allergen, legal and risk-management standards throughout food production
  • Lead, brief, coach and motivate team members, prioritising tasks and ensuring work is completed on time and to standard
  • Manage ingredients, portion sizes, yield and waste to control costs and support sustainability
  • Communicate effectively and work collaboratively across kitchen, front-of-house and wider teams
  • Solve problems calmly under pressure while maintaining quality, safety and customer-focused service
  • Support business performance, profitability and competitiveness while developing personal and team skills and promoting professional standards

What Next?

On completion of this programme, apprentices will be fully qualified and experienced Chef de Parties. Allowing a successful career in the hospitality industry.
