About this course

About this apprenticeship

They act as a key point of contact for complex or technical enquiries, complaints and ongoing customer issues, often handling escalated cases.

They have strong knowledge of their organisation’s products and services and share their expertise with colleagues to improve overall customer support. They also collect and analyse customer data and feedback to identify opportunities for service improvements and organisational change.

The role involves using a range of IT and digital systems and can be carried out in environments such as contact centres, retail, webchat, service industries and other customer-facing settings.

This Level 3 apprenticeship is wholly work based and delivered through independent study and workplace visits by a Vocational Trainer Coach.

What you Will Learn

  • Understand the organisation’s strategy, culture, structure and the value customer service adds to the wider business
  • Understand customer journeys, including challenges, escalation points, business processes, commercial factors and authority limits
  • Understand different customer types, behaviours, needs, expectations, emotions and factors that influence loyalty and satisfaction
  • Keep up to date with regulations, industry developments and best practice to improve customer service
  • Continuously improve service delivery by making informed decisions, recommendations and solutions that benefit both customers and the organisation
  • Resolve complex and challenging issues using effective questioning, listening, communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Gather, analyse and use customer feedback and data to understand customer needs and improve services
  • Manage referrals and escalations effectively while maintaining positive relationships and considering previous customer interactions
  • Take ownership of customer issues, provide realistic solutions, keep promises and work collaboratively with colleagues
  • Adapt service to individual customers, promote equality and inclusion, represent the organisation’s values and maintain a professional image.
