About this apprenticeship

HR Professionals in this role typically work within medium to large organisations as part of an HR team, providing day-to-day support and advice to managers and employees. In smaller organisations, they may work as an HR Manager with broader responsibilities.

Their role can involve handling employee queries, providing HR guidance and supporting a wide range of HR processes, from recruitment and onboarding through to retirement. They will use HR systems to maintain accurate records, provide relevant workforce information and support the organisation through HR-related changes.

HR Professionals will be expected to advise managers on a variety of HR matters, applying company policies and current employment legislation to ensure decisions are fair, compliant and minimise the risk of employment tribunals or legal action.

This is a Level 3 apprenticeship.

What you Will Learn

  • Understands the organisation, its products and services, the market it operates in, its values and how their HR role supports the business.
  • Has a good understanding of relevant HR legislation, company policies and where to access expert advice when required.
  • Understands the role and priorities of the HR function and how these relate to their responsibilities.
  • Understands the HR systems, tools, processes and standards required to carry out their role effectively.
  • Provides excellent customer service, offering HR advice and support to managers while meeting agreed targets and deadlines.
  • Uses effective questioning, listening and problem-solving skills to identify root causes, provide solutions and escalate complex issues when necessary.
  • Communicates professionally through different channels, adapts their approach to different audiences and handles sensitive or challenging situations confidentially.
  • Works collaboratively with colleagues and other HR teams, building positive working relationships to achieve shared goals.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve HR processes and services, supports HR projects and maintains accurate records and management information.
  • Keeps their knowledge and skills up to date, responds positively to change, acts with honesty and integrity, maintains confidentiality and remains resilient under pressure.

Learning & Teaching Methods

This Level 3 apprenticeship has an approximate duration of 15 months and delivery is hybrid with weekly online CIPD training sessions and one in-person session her month at East Riding College, Flemingate Centre, Armstrong Way, Beverley, HU17 0GH

What Next?

On completion of this programme, apprentices will be fully qualified and experienced HR Support staff members. Allowing progression onto Level 5 apprenticeships such as People Professional.
