About this course

About this apprenticeship

The role involves providing expert advice, coaching and challenge on people matters, policies and employment law, while supporting business projects and people initiatives. People Professionals work with stakeholders across the organisation and externally, using communication, influence, negotiation and evidence-based decision-making.

They may develop people plans, advise managers and leaders, use data to identify trends and issues, recommend solutions and contribute to the design and review of people policies and processes. They also stay informed about legislation, the external environment and emerging people practices and trends.

This Level 5 apprenticeship has an approximate duration of 18 months. Hybrid delivery with weekly online CIPD training sessions and one in-person session a month at our East Riding College, Flemingate Centre, Armstrong Way, Beverley, HU17 0GH.

What you Will Learn

  • Use internal and external people data, systems and analysis to identify trends, risks, opportunities and inform decisions
  • Understand people functions, operating models, business objectives and how people practices contribute to organisational success
  • Apply employment law, policies, regulations, confidentiality, data protection and ethical standards appropriately
  • Use problem-solving, decision-making, project management and prioritisation techniques effectively
  • Communicate, negotiate, influence and build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Advise and support managers on people issues, policies, employee relations, wellbeing and people solutions
  • Support people strategies, change projects, policies, procedures and initiatives using technology and innovation
  • Promote equality, diversity, inclusion, wellbeing and sustainable working practices across the organisation
  • Demonstrate commercial awareness, including budgets, financial implications, benchmarking and value for money
  • Act professionally, ethically, collaboratively, flexibly and with resilience while continually developing knowledge and skills.

On completion of this programme, apprentices will be fully qualified and experienced People Professionals Allowing a successful career within a HR department.
