The TEC Partnership is pleased to announce the appointment of Simon Gummerson as the new Campus Principal for its Scarborough TEC and East Riding College Bridlington campuses, effective from 1st September 2024.
Simon Gummerson has been a dedicated member of the TEC Partnership since 2010, beginning his career as an Automotive Tutor. He has since served in various roles, most recently as Vice Principal at the same campuses. Simon, a native of Bridlington, brings with him over 20 years of experience in the local automotive industry, having worked in Bridlington, York, and Scarborough before transitioning to education.
Reflecting on his new role, Simon said:
“I am truly honoured to step into the role of Campus Principal at Scarborough TEC and East Riding College Bridlington. My journey, from the automotive industry to education, has given me a unique perspective and a deep appreciation for the transformative power of learning. Having served as Vice Principal, Head of Area, Automotive Tutor, and Programme Leader, I have had the privilege of witnessing the incredible dedication and talent of our staff and students.
“As Campus Principal, I am excited to build on our past successes and tackle the challenges that lie ahead. My goal is to ensure that our campuses continue to be hubs of innovation, inclusivity, and excellence. Together, we will strive to create opportunities for growth, inspire a passion for lifelong learning, and make a positive impact on our community. I look forward to working with everyone to achieve these goals and to make our campuses the best they can be.”
