Platform 5 student art exhibition prepares to steam ahead

Scarborough TEC BA (Hons) Fine Art students are busy preparing for their end of year exhibition, Platform 5, which will be launching in a special preview event on Thursday 16thMay at The Old Parcels Office, Scarborough, from 6pm.

The five students exhibiting, Final Year students; Kirsty Farrow and Rachel Grant are being joined by Year 2 students; Petra Ingham, Adam Kulscar and Meg Ricketts for the showcase.

Platform 5 will comprise a variety of mediums including; Painting, Sculpture, Photography and Prints all based around the students’ individual practices as BA (Hons) Fine Art student Kirsty Farrow, explained:

“We have decided to call the exhibition Platform 5 because there are five of us exhibiting and this is going to be a platform on which we can celebrate our individuality and look forward to our future as professional Artists.

“Because we are holding the exhibition at the Old Parcels Office at Scarborough Station, it also seemed fitting that we tie the event in with the station and the history of the building itself.”
