We hosted the Business Leaders Forum!

We were delighted to welcome the Mayor of York and North Yorkshire, David Skaith, to the Future Proofing the Coast – A Business Leaders Forum, held in partnership with Castle Employment Group and the West and North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce.

This unique event provided senior leaders and business owners from across the Yorkshire Coast with the opportunity to hear the mayor’s vision and growth plan for the region. The forum also featured a Q&A session, allowing employers from across the region to ask a range of questions, from boosting economic growth to ensuring local skills development aligns with employer needs.

Our principal, Simon Gummerson, also shared insights into the college’s role in the development of adaptable, higher-level skills for the future and the importance of collaboration with businesses to co-design training programmes. 

The forum was hosted in our Nineteen09 restaurant, where our talented hospitality students showcase their skills in crafting the finest international cuisine.
