Scarborough TEC is delighted to announce a new partnership with Bridlington Animal Park, that will mean students studying Animal Care courses will have now have opportunities to work with a host of weird and wonderful mammals, reptiles and endangered species as part of their programmes.
Animal Care courses were introduced at Scarborough TEC in 2018 and the College currently works with Basics Plus at Betton Farm for some of the course delivery.
Bridlington Animal Park is an award-winning, family owned business in Bridlington, the popular Yorkshire resort. Paul Woodward, Director of Bridlington Animal Park, was keen to develop the partnership with Scarborough TEC to enhance learning opportunities for those who are considering a career working with animals, Paul said:
“We are so excited that Bridlington Animal Park have formed a new working relationship with Scarborough TEC. Scarborough TEC are taking vocational study to a whole new level and we are proud to be part of this learning experience.
“We are a modern thinking zoo and are very ‘hands on’ with the animals, giving the students and customers the very best experience possible.
If it is further study at university or going straight into the workplace, Bridlington Animal Park, in partnership with Scarborough TEC will give students the very best building blocks on the road to success. Bring it on!”
Cheryl Eade, Head of Service Industries at Scarborough TEC, explained why working collaboratively with Bridlington Animal Park was going to be advantageous to the students as they pursue their future careers. Cheryl said:
“Our Animal Care courses have proven very popular since we introduced them in 2018. Because the demand has been so great we have developed the programmes and are now offering courses at Levels 1, 2 & 3.
“Our students really enjoy being able to get out of the classroom and work in the real-world environment that they have been able to experience at Betton Farm.
“Being able to take this even further by developing this relationship with Paul and his brilliant team at Bridlington Animal Park means that the students will now have access to an incredible assortment of animals that are going to develop their skills and knowledge even further.“
