BA (Hons) Fine Art degree students, Petra Ingham and Meg Ricketts, are holding their final art exhibition at St Mary’s Church, Scarborough, from Thursday 20th to Sunday 23rd.
Their exhibition ‘Equilibrium’ balances an exciting mix of both students work; from large contemporary abstract pieces, to realism paintings on natural wood, alongside a combination of different printmaking techniques.
Meg Ricketts said: ‘We are looking forward to exhibiting in such a beautiful, spacious and atmospheric place, we feel it will show our work off to its best advantage; contrasting the contemporary with the historical surroundings.’
Their work is the culmination of 6 years study at Scarborough TEC and Meg and Petra are the final two Fine Art students to complete their BA (Hons) Fine Art degree at Scarborough TEC.
Petra Ingham added: ‘We feel our work complements each other well. My work is an emotional response to different genres of music, using music as ‘a key’ to unlock memories and feelings. Meg’s work focuses on the diversity of nature, the visible and the invisible.”
Visitors will have the opportunity to meet with the artists during the exhibition, which will be open daily from Thursday 20th May – Saturday 22nd May from 11am-3.30pm and Sunday 23rd May from 1-4pm.
