Scarborough TEC is launching a new employer service, Yorkshire Employer Services (YES) that will be responsible for delivering tailored solutions for employers and businesses that will include tailored business solutions, delivery to upskill current employees and a new team with a key focus on Apprenticeship delivery.
Alan Hadfield, Head of Apprenticeships, joined Scarborough TEC in August last year and has been busy planning the launch of YES to coincide with National Apprenticeship Week, Alan explained:
“We’re launching our new brand YES as part of National Apprenticeship Week because we feel that 2020 is the right time to bring a focused business solution to the region.
“Scarborough TEC has previously delivered Apprenticeships but we are now looking at a new type of delivery, especially with the recent and ongoing introduction of Apprenticeship standards. We’re confident that our new brand will reflect our positive approach to offering a service that will meet the needs of employers and Apprentices locally, regionally and nationally.
“YES will have the opportunity to deliver the off-the-job training in some of the best facilities available at Scarborough TEC, including the new Automotive, Construction and Engineering Centre, the onsite IMAGE Hair & Beauty Salon and the skills and production kitchens that sit alongside Nineteen09 Restaurant that were developed as part of Scarborough TEC’s relocation to the Filey Road Campus in 2017.
“We aim to build on the excellent reputation of Scarborough TEC and we have an exceptional team in place to deliver your Apprenticeships and offer qualifications that will lead to fruitful progression; whether that be in employment or continuing the educational journey at university.”
Apprenticeships are available to anyone over the age of 16, living in England, and they offer high quality, work based learning programmes comprising of National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ), functional skills and, in most cases, a technical certificate.
Vocational training is the ideal opportunity for career development, integration of both theoretical knowledge and practical skills to ensure a skilled workforce for the future.
Why should you choose an Apprenticeship?
Employers also benefit from Apprenticeships with many citing improvements to their bottom lines, motivated workforces and the ability to fill vacancies they have previously struggled to recruit to because of the specific skills required.
Anyone interested in an Apprenticeship can simply come along to the YES Apprenticeship Open Event at Scarborough TEC on Tuesday 4th February from 3-6pm at the Filey Road Campus – YO11 3AZ. Alternatively email [email protected] for more information.
