At Scarborough TEC, our Digital & Creative Industries courses are tailored to equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in the dynamic world of digital media, design, and creative arts. Through a blend of theoretical learning and hands-on practical experience, students will explore various facets of digital technology, graphic design, multimedia production, and creative entrepreneurship.
Our courses are designed to foster creativity, innovation, and technical proficiency, preparing students for careers in fields such as graphic design, digital marketing, animation, and more. With access to industry-standard software and guidance from experienced professionals, students will have the opportunity to unleash their creative potential and develop a strong foundation for success in the rapidly evolving digital and creative industries.
Over two years, you will work as an individual and as part of a team on project briefs designed to develop your skillset toward three main career paths:
“You get tutorials and they’re all really supportive. I’ve already had feedback that my report was really good and they were really impressed with me.”
JAMES IRELAND
Year 2 Performing Arts – Stage and Screen
“I love performing, so wanted to try it out full-time. The course is very practical, especially during lessons, which makes it really exciting and fun. There’s the opportunity to try a lot of different things such as lighting or set design. Our final project this year was a musical called Let’s Go to the Hop. We devised a few of the scenes and planned our own choreography, then held workshops for how we wanted it to look. It’s been difficult but a really fun journey.”
CLIVE WELBURN
Level 2 Computing and Games
“I’ve had brain tumours from the age of nine and have needed seven operations. While I was recovering from complications from the last one, I thought I needed a hobby so tried photography. I like digital design so my plan is to set up a business doing design, video and photography work. The facilities are really good; I’ve had fantastic support and have enjoyed my time here.”
