Scarborough TEC is delighted to be supporting this year’s Tour de Yorkshire, which will be crossing the finish line in Scarborough for Stage 3 of the race on Saturday 5thMay.
The college will be holding a special cycling awareness workshop, supported by Scarborough and Ryedale Community Cycling, where students will be given the opportunity to trial a range of specially adapted bikes at the Filey Road Campus.
Professional Cookery Programme Leader, Margaret Calver, has designed, baked and decorated a special Tour de Yorkshire cake, inspired by scenes of Scarborough, whichwill take pride of place in the VIP enclosure at the finish line on Royal Albert Drive.
Margaret was assisted in the challenge by students; Stephanie Green, Chloe Robinson and Sarah Robson. Ann Hardy, Principal of Scarborough TEC, said:
“We are delighted to be showing our support for one of the region’s top sporting events. The Tour de Yorkshire is something that everyone in Scarborough has been looking forward to returning and it’s fantastic that they will be passing by our campus on Filey Road during the Stage 3 race.
“I would like to wish all of those competing the very best of luck and we look forward to seeing you at the finish line.”
